4th and 5 from the Ohio State (OSU) 43 at Beaver Stadium with 1:22 left in the game. With OSU up 27-26, PSU ran what is being called the worst play call of the year. After a timeout by Penn State (PSU) they lineup for the play. That is when Ohio State calls a timeout, followed by another timeout by PSU. After all of these timeouts the best play call that PSU came up with was the option play that did not work all night. PSU QB, Trace McSorley took the snap and handed it off to PSU RB Miles Sanders was immediately hit and tackled. Giving the ball back to Ohio State and basically ending the game for Penn State with only a minute left and 1 timeout.

On October 2nd, Ms. Lucas hosted a field trip for her Intro to Theater class. Her students saw a live performance of the play Picnic at Desales University at the Labuda Center for the Performing Arts. The class left for the trip at about 9AM and returned at about 12:00AM considering that the play’s run time was just over two hours and the round trip was about half an hour long. I had the privilege of interviewing Ms. Lucas to ask her more about the trip:

If you are in love with romantic comedies, then you will love To All the Boys I Loved Before. The main character Lara Jean Covey, played by actress Lana Condor, writes five love letters, one for every boy she’s ever loved, which includes the most popular boy in her grade and her sister’s ex-boyfriend. That alone just tells us how messy this situation could get if these were ever read. Now, Lara Jean has no intention of sending her letters and keeps them in a hatbox in her closet. However, one day, the letters somehow get sent, and they turn Lara Jean’s life upside down.

The Salisbury Falcons Varsity football team went to Notre Dame this past Friday to take on the 3-1, now 4-1, Crusaders. It was a rough night for the Falcons, playing with limited starting players due to a plethora of injuries that has riddled the Falcon starting lineup. The remaining healthy Falcon players were typically freshman and sophomores, leading to an inexperienced eleven.

As September closes, Salisbury High School is in full swing with their soccer season. For the boys soccer team, the varsity team has won a home game against Pine Grove, a home game against Notre Dame, and an away game against Northern Lehigh, making it altogether three victories. Junior varsity recently won one game against Catasauqua, the score 1-0, and it also tied twice, once with Notre Dame and once with Palisades. The boys are coached by SHS American Cultures teacher Mr. Frick and SMS gym teacher Mr. Allinson, as well as SHS Algebra 2 and Geometry 2 teacher Mr. Hahn, who coaches junior varsity.
