Pod Save the ‘Bury is a new podcast that offers an insight into student interactions hosted by four Salisbury Seniors, Justin Burkhardt, Brett Minnick, Patrick To, and Zachary Peace. Various censored discussions of in school topics and out of school activities create the basis for an off the wall conversation from these four with occasional guest hosts.

Every year students obsess over the weather in the winter. Every freshman turns into a junior meteorologist and tries to figure out exactly when and how our school schedule will be interrupted by snow days, early dismissals and 2-hour delays. So, in the spirit of trying to avoid going to school in the winter, we decided to take a look at our winter break this year.

In 2005, Carol Aebersold wrote the book, “The Elf on the Shelf: A Christmas Tradition”, beginning the newly loved Christmas tradition. Around 2013, this tradition blew up. Many families began buying these elves to place around their homes and join in on the fun to find Santa’s little elf. So, what’s the story behind these elves?

This week’s installment: The Importance of Drinking Water
My absolute, all-time favorite drink is water. About a year ago, I became obsessed with finding a cute water bottle. Seriously, ask my parents. If I saw a cute water bottle, then I had to get it. Finally for Christmas, I got the perfect water bottle. You see, this water bottle is a Brita water bottle. It has a filter, making it easy to drink any water and have it be purified. Some people dislike room temperature water, however, I really like. As a singer, room temperature water is better for your vocal cords and your overall health. So this water bottle kept my water at the perfect temperature. It is a beautiful light blue color and it has a handle on the side which makes it great for carrying around. This water bottle was truly perfect for me. Having it, made me want to always be drinking water. Always drinking water began to be a reoccurring daily thing. I was drinking around 40 0z of water a day. This newly established habit improved my health greatly, although I was not looking for that when I was asking for one.

The Salisbury Falcons’ football season has come to an end. The 2-8 record comes as an extreme disappointment to the team and especially the leaving seniors. The Falcons ended the year on a 4 game losing streak losing to Northern Lehigh, Bangor, Palmerton, and Southern Lehigh. Their two wins came against Wilson (21-7 win) and Catasauqua (35-7 win). It was a tough season in which their opponents scored almost double the number of points that they did. The team was riddled with injuries and position changes throughout the season. Injuries included basically every position on offense and defense. This included starting quarterback and linebacker, Jacob Kamp, who could not even start as QB for his last game as a Falcon. These injuries, previous seniors leaving, and a need for position changes all contributed to their losing record.
