The Lady Falcons: Ready for basketball season to start

By Quinn Wittman

Basketball is right around the corner for the lady Falcons, and they’re looking for some wins this season. Open gyms started, and girls are coming to get warmed up and prepared for the most exciting time of the year for them. The team has only two returning starters, including Madison Bettuccio and Quinn Wittman.

Last year the girls finished with a total of three wins and eighteen losses. Winning against Catasauqua twice and Saucon Valley, it was a season of learning. With new coaches, some players have to adjust and get used to how the year is gonna go. Dan Reichenbach as the varsity coach with Mrs. Basile as the JV coach, having only about 16 girls made the season stressful, but mostly everyone had fun.

With the second top scorer, Melena Koutch, out for this season due to a torn ACL from a previous sport, the girls will have to compete at practice to battle out who will be starting down low. The team has many players that could fill the spot; the question is who wants it more?

Sierra Rauch, a junior returning for her third year of basketball, is most excited about,  “The hope that Dan brings to the team. His coaching skills can turn us around,” which many of the girls can agree with, if not all. This years team will be focusing on the bond between all the members on the team and hopefully winning some games. All the players are excited to start the season and to make this year the best one yet.
