In the beginning of November, all the Salisbury twirlers unite for tryouts for the winter competition season. The twirlers are split into two teams based on their ability and grade. This year there are 12 girls on the senior team, which includes one 8th grader and a range of girls between 9th and 12th grade. The team is run by the seniors. The team is coached by Coach Chrissy, Coach Julie, and Coach Lynn. The twirlers began preparing for their competitions in November. Their annual indoor competition is this weekend on January 26th at Salisbury High School.
The show will begin at 12 pm and run until around 8:30 pm. The show will include performances by dance teams, bands, the color guard, and other twirling teams from local schools and organizations. The twirlers compete in region two. All schools that finish in this region go on to Wildwood to compete with the other regions. The Salisbury Middle School twirlers will be performing at 4:06 pm, and the Salisbury High School twirlers will be performing at 7:58 pm. They will be performing to the song “Rock Me Amadeus” by Falco. Once all the teams compete, awards will be distributed at 8:10 to the placing teams.
Stop by this weekend to support our twirlers. Good luck to all the twirlers!
