NFL Week 11

By Brett Minnick
Following a week filled with blowout wins for hot teams, week 11 looks to have a few more upsets in it.  Last week, the Patriots blew out the Broncos; but look for the Raiders to make a statement and possibly live up to the preseason hype against one of the top teams of the NFL. The Chargers and Bills face off this week as the Bills come off a blowout loss against the Saints. The Chargers are coming off a slim loss to the Jags and will have to streak for a chance in the playoffs. The Bills are benching Tyrod Taylor this week after a lackluster offensive attack last week. Nathan Peterman, a rookie from Pitt, will start in his stead and try to win a starting job. The Rams crushed the Texans last week but will face one of the NFL’s top defenses in the Minnesota Vikings.  The Vikings offense has looked good throughout the year behind should be backup turned starter Case Keenum.  If the Rams can overcome the Everson Griffen lead Vikings D, they should be able to come out on top.  Lastly, the Falcons and Seahawks matchup in primetime Monday Night Football.  This battle of the NFC powerhouses will be pivotal for if they can secure a wild card spot.

The premier matchup this week however is the primetime rivalry game between the Eagles and Cowboys.  This nasty rivalry will come to a showdown between Carson Wentz and the Philly D vs Dak Prescott and Dez Bryant.  The Cowboys will have to learn to adapt to life without Ezekiel Elliott after they lost to the Falcons without him last week.  Many believe Dak Prescott can single handedly lead the team to success, but they will have to slow the Philly pass rush and give Prescott time to make plays like he can to win the game.  MVP favorite Carson Wentz will look to attack the Cowboys in the middle of the field where Sean Lee will be absent from the game.  The run game also has to be strong to prevent Cowboys premier pass rusher Demarcus Lawrence from getting into the backfield.
