The 2017 World Series was one to remember as the Houston Astros defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers in 7 games.
The stage couldn’t be any bigger as it was a true toss-up with experts picking both sides to win. Yu Darvish was set to duel against Lance McCullers, neither pitcher is their team’s best. Darvish let up 2 runs in the first, which gave the Astros the lead and they never looked back. The final ended up being 5-1 Astros. Big time players show up in big time games, and that is just what George Springer did. He was 2-5 with a home run and 2 RBIs. He also ended winning World Series MVP by hitting 5 home runs and totaling 29 bases throughout the series. This championship was special to Houston after the devastating Hurricane Harvey swept through the city earlier in the year. This was Houston’s first ever World Series Championship in 52 years of its’ existence.
