On September 20 of 2017, Hurricane Maria made landfall in Puerto Rico. The island had already been hit by Hurricane Irma in the weeks before this category 5 storm devastated the entire island and the 3.4 million Americans who live there. Many if not most of the people who live there still have no access to running water or electricity.
There is a similar situation in Mexico, where two high magnitude Earthquakes have devastated central Mexico. Mexico city has been hammered by these natural disasters and many do not have the necessary supplies they need to survive.
Here at Salisbury we are having a drive from October 22-27, when we will be accepting donations to help the people devastated by these disasters in Puerto Rico and Mexico. Please donate any of the following, and check posters around the school, or contact Profe. Cherry with any questions at email@example.com. Thank you for your donations.
– Non-Perishable foods (canned beans, rice, canned vegetables, canned fruit, etc.)
