With the beginning of the school year and the transition from summer to fall, the most watched sport in America starts up too. The NFL is well underway, to the point where surprise starts and scores are already piling up. The Kansas City Chiefs are one of the most intriguing teams so far knocking off defending champs in the season opener and then soundly defeating the Eagles. Alex Smith has looked like a better player so far, and Kareem Hunt has been the best runningback in the league through two games.
Perhaps the most surprising outcome from week 2 of the NFL was the Broncos taking the down the notorious Cowboys. The Broncos are known for their defense but the team really shined this week holding 2016 rushing champ Ezekiel Elliott to 8 yards on 9 carries. More impressively, the Broncos scored 35 points against the Cowboys with former 7th round pick Trevor Siemian throwing 4 touchdown passes.
For this upcoming week 3, the game to really keep an eye on is the Atlanta Falcons @ Detroit Lions. Matthew Stafford and the Lions defense have started out to a strong 2-0 record defeating the Giants and the Cardinals. The Falcons have also come out to 2-0 record as expected of the NFC Champions. The Falcons have defeated the Bears and the Packers. The Lions have something to prove this week against a truly threatening opponent to show that they are the team to beat in the NFC North.
