Unique Gift Idea
By Jocelyn Donaldson
It’s almost Christmas and, as bad as it sounds considering what the holiday is really supposed to be about, you know what that means. As artificial as the tree you plan to put them under… presents! Time to set up the tree, buy those extravagant gifts that will get the best reactions Christmas morning, and get ready for multiple paper cuts trying to make those pretty bows you only wish you could pull off. Oh, don’t get me wrong. I’m probably coming off as a Christmas hater, when in reality I love Christmas. However, there is a huge reason why I dread the season. Every single year, I procrastinate till the last minute to go shopping and end up freaking out over getting everyone gifts. This is the year to break that habit and I actually started buying gifts on Black Friday because of all the lovely sales, but I still had a problem. I didn’t know what to buy everyone. I’m probably thinking too much into this, but a gift being meaningful is important to almost everyone in my family, and they won’t accept anything less. Therefore, I went on a little googling trip to see what I could find this year this year and I found the strangest gifts. However, for me, one gift stood out among all the rest.
Jewelry is a timeless gift that can be bought for anyone, but it can’t be plain. I ended up looking up some different jewelry places and stumbled onto the most mind boggling bracelet i’ve ever seen. The site I found it on is Ashley Bridget. The bracelet itself seems plain. It looks like a plain bangle with an indent in the middle and an open back. The concept behind it is anything but, and I honestly can’t believe someone came up with the simple design. You know what the bangle is used for? A hair tie holder. Some creative person with a lot of time on their hands decided to make a pretty little bangle that holds an elastic. Can you believe that? I ordered one right away. My mom and I have an inside joke about hair ties after she freaked out on me wearing them on my wrist because of some article she saw about hair ties around the wrist being a health concern. Also, I accidently left hair ties on my wrist for senior pictures and didn’t notice until much too late. Therefore, a perfect gift from me to my mom… or myself if I manage to find something else for her. The bracelets come in four different designs. They can be gold, silver or rose gold plated. As their site says “Functionality finally meets fashion!” It’s definitely a unique bracelet and might be the perfect gift for someone you know.
