Penn Argyl at Salisbury
By Alex Glenn
On Friday October 7th, Pen Argyl took on the mighty Salisbury Falcons. The Falcon’s stadium was riddled with blue and white balloons in celebration for homecoming. The homecoming hype was real thanks to all the members of the student section. Despite the immense spirit our school possessed, it would not phase the Pen Argyl Knights one bit.
Before this game, Salisbury’s record was 2 – 4 and Pen Argyl’s was 4 – 2, so the Falcons knew that they had their work cut out for them. The Falcons were missing 5 starters as well, so they would really have to step it up to win this game.
Salisbury picked up to receive, and would started on their own 28 yd line. In the first quarter, Pen Argyl’s Logan Ruppert intercepted QB Cameron Vaka’s pass and returned it for a 60 yd pick-six. The second quarter consisted of 2 touchdowns from Pen Argyl’s Logan Sterner. The Knights led 21 – 0 going into the half.
The second half consisted of two touchdowns for Pen Argyl, with the first from Logan Sterner, and the second from Austin Heisler. Salisbury refused to get shut out. Cameron Vaka punched it in, saving the falcons from being shutout on their homecoming night. The final score was 35 – 7 with Pen Argyl taking the win.
