On Thursday, June 9, 2016 the Class of 2016 Graduation was held at Miller Symphony Hall in Allentown.  Dr. Ziegenfuss was the first speaker, followed by Mrs. Klinger.  Mrs. Butterbaugh then introduced the first student speaker, Class President Sarah Galantini.  After Sarah’s speech, Mr. Muschlitz introduced the salutatorian, Ryan Fainor.  Ms. Morningstar followed Ryan’s speech by introducing the final student speaker of the evening, Catherine Kenyon, who is the valedictorian.

After the student speeches, the senior members of the Salisbury High School chorus sang You’ve Got a Friend. Three awards were presented after the student speeches. Señora Buzdygon presented the Salisbury Staff Award to Matthew Fainor.  Mr. Hilaire, representing the Salisbury Education Association (SEA), presented the SEA award to Brett Sonntag. Mrs. Cressman presented the Salisbury Education Support Professionals Association award to Haley Werkheiser. After the presentation of these three awards, it was time to hand out diplomas.

Ms. Morningstar announced the names of each student while Dr. Ziegenfuss handed the diplomas to those graduating. President of the School Board, Mr. Frankenfield, shook their hand as they headed back to their seat.  Once everyone was seated, Ms. Morningstar presented the Class of 2016 as the new alumni, and the graduates threw their caps in the air with joy. The audience joined them in singing the Alma Mater.  The new alumni then recessed out to the song Unwritten by Natasha Bedingfield, celebrating the fact that they are the newest alumni of Salisbury High School.
