Big Brother/Big Sister Program

Attention all juniors, sophomores, and freshmen, Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Allentown is looking for high school volunteers to serve as “bigs” to students in grades K-3 at Roosevelt Elementary School. The program runs on Tuesday afternoons from 3:30 P.M. to 4:30 P.M. during the course of the school year. You will be responsible for transportation to and from Roosevelt Elementary. To become a Big Brother/Big Sister, an application is required and can be picked up outside Mr. Anderson’s office. All applications are due this Friday, June 10th, 2016. You will be required to have an interview by the supervisor of this program, to attend an one-hour training. Both the interview and the training will take place at SHS during the summer. You will be expected to make a 12 month commitment to your “little”. If you are selected you will receive on site supervision as a check in regarding how your relationship is going with your “little”. They are looking for 10 volunteers so hurry up and get your applications in if you would like to participate in this program! If you are currently a Big Brother/Big Sister, you do need to reapply.
