By Grant Hadian
Attention seniors, there is a scholarship opportunity waiting for you. It is the Class of 2013 Michelle Honochick Memorial Scholarship. Any senior interested in applying must submit a typed essay of one to two pages in length explaining why they believe they show leadership, a positive attitude in and out of school, good academic standing, examples of community service, demonstrate financial need, and are a good role model for others. The essay should address all of these criteria and should include examples of how the applicant exemplifies these criteria.
Members of the SHS Scholarship Committee will choose the scholarship winner, and the winner will be presented at the Academic Awards Night on Tuesday, May 31. The award of $500 will be given to one student. $250 will be given to the recipient of the award for scholarship money, and the other $250 will be donated to a charity of the recipient’s choice.
All essays are due by the end of the day on Thursday, May 5. Please submit a printed copy of the essay, without your name, to Mr. Cerco in Room 122.
