Book Drive Provides Opportunities to Donate Books for Children
By Alex Diamond
Literary Club is hosting a book drive through April 29th, to make books more widely available to all children. This is for the Cops “N” Kids organization that conducted the assemblies in the elementary schools earlier this month. Cops “N” Kids will be the organization who hands out the books to children after the book drive is over.
Amy Bitar, the President of Literary Club, thought up the idea with guidance counselor Shannon Stokes. “It was really a team effort.” Bitar has already sent out an email on the subject and will be airing the information out on Impact.
As of now, there have not been any donations from the high school but similar fundraisers from the elementary school have gotten a lot of books. Bitar is very hopeful that students donate. “My personal goal is for one-hundred books to be donated.”
